Brick House Museum

Built by Nathaniel Hill in 1768, it was undoubtedly, one of the handsomest dwellings between New York and Albany. Seven generations of the Hill family have occupied Brick House. Through its more than two two centuries of occupancy, the Brick House has retained its beautiful rural setting, but it has evolved from a gentlemen's farm to a country estate. Today's visitors will find the Brick House not restored to another era, but still retaining many of the changes and improvements that seven generations have created.

The Minisink Ford Battlefield

Today the Minisink Battleground Park is hallowed ground where so many patriots fell in defense of an ideal - liberty. They were passionate men who perished here, a long distance from their farms, their families and friends. Because of their sacrifice and that of thousands of other patriots during the American War for Independence, our nation was born.

The Battleground

The park, operated and maintained by the Sullivan County Division of Public Works is open from Mother's Day weekend through Columbus Day and is located about one mile northeast from New York State Route 97 at Minisink Ford in the Town of Highland on County Route 168. The Battleground Trail begins at the Visitor Interpretive Center near the parking area and after ascending to the level of the battleground loops around and returns to the parking lot. The Battleground Trail is a groomed trail.

Tri State Monument

This is also the site where a 100-year boundary dispute between the colonies of East and West Jersey and New York was finally resolved in 1769.
