Most people are afraid of the word "GREEN", especially the local building community. What they are really afraid of is change and their misconception about what "going green" really means. To many, a "Green Home" conjures up visions of 1970's style modernistic homes with expensive large solar panels. Cold and ugly these visions, and the lack of up-to-date information filtering to the general public, hold people back from learning and changing for the better.
The truth is that today's "Green Homes" don't need to look any different or cost any more than your neighbors house. The "Green" industry has come a long way in ensuring the consumer attractive, affordable, sustainable, healthy and environmentally friendly homes.
The problem is that the information on this has not hit mainstream media with any regularity. There is a lot to learn to make the right choices and make them affordable.
